09:40 <DarkKnightCZ> Hi, I'm trying the XWikiTube application and after the initial struggles with horribly slow vp9 encoding I've encountered issues with rendering html content with exception "When using the HTML macro inline, you can only use inline HTML content. Block HTML content (such as tables) cannot be displayed. Try leaving an empty line before and after the HTML macro". Apparently it seams html macro cannot render video tag. Are there any known issues

11:22 <tmortagne> vmassol1: you are just mean :P
11:31 <vmassol1> :)

11:31 <vmassol1> pragramtic?
11:31 <vmassol1> *pragmatic
11:33 <mflorea> vmassol1, afaik we don't support table caption in wiki syntax, right? https://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Web/HTML/Element/caption
11:33 <mflorea> nothing mentioned here http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/XWikiSyntax?syntax=2.1&section=Tables
11:34 <mflorea> about caption
11:36 <vmassol1> mflorea: correct, I don't think we support it. Just searched for "caption" in the xhtml renderer and couldn't find it
11:36 <mflorea> ok, thanks, I'll have to disable/hide this feature from the CKEditor for now then
11:36 <mflorea> http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/CKEDITOR-74
11:37 <vmassol1> indeed too bad…

12:19 <tmortagne> mflorea, vmassol1: I guess we could have a first version based on table parameter which would support only plain text
12:19 <tmortagne> as in (%caption="Some title"%)
12:19 <tmortagne> fully support caption require a new event
12:20 <vmassol1> haven't read about caption yet but yes if css can support it partially maybe the wysiwyg could use it (if not too much work)
12:20 <vmassol1> or use html to support it...
12:20 <tmortagne> not css
12:20 <vmassol1> html macro that is
12:20 <vmassol1> but not very nice ;)
12:20 <vmassol1> yes sorry not css
12:20 <tmortagne> I mean make the html renderer convert this parameter into <caption>
12:20 <vmassol1> html attributes
12:20 <vmassol1> ah
12:21 <vmassol1> ok got it
12:21 <vmassol1> hmm I think I'd prfer to add full support for caption seems to be about the same amount of work
12:21 <vmassol1> not same, similar
12:21 <tmortagne> not really
12:21 <tmortagne> you also need a syntax on XWiki syntax side
12:21 <tmortagne> and render/parser for it
12:21 <vmassol1> right
12:22 <vmassol1> FTR md supports it I think: http://fletcher.github.io/MultiMarkdown-5/tables.html
12:34 <vmassol1> evalica: seems we lost the panels on xwiki.org

13:41 <acotiuga_> [ERROR] java.lang.AssertionError: [ERROR] There should be no content output to the console by the test!
13:46 <acotiuga_> Looks like the output is generated all the time and maybe one of the errors fail the build, but not all of them
14:25 <vmassol> Enygma`: I don't like the tutorial category for the blog
14:25 <vmassol> I don't think blog should be about tutorials
14:25 <vmassol> for me we need to move tutorials in the doc proper
14:25 <vmassol> and have the blog post link to them
14:25 <vmassol> (or include them using the include macro if you prefer)
14:26 <vmassol> because blog post are visible only during a given time; they're timestamped news
14:26 <vmassol> while tutorial are meant to be long-lived
14:26 <vmassol> wdyt?
14:26 <vmassol> so this HTTP/REST tutorial would be useful on the REST doc page
14:27 <vmassol> (as a link there to a tutorial page)
14:27 <vmassol> offtopic: btw full links should be avoided too since they don't support renames
14:28 <vmassol> and external tutorials needs to be linked
14:28 <vmassol> for example from http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/ExternalLinks
14:28 <vmassol> adding fabio's blog post

15:03 <Enygma`> blog articles are not really one-time news (like activity stream), they are indexed by google and they show up
15:04 <vmassol> sure but you don't find them otherwise
15:04 <Enygma`> we can link to them from the feature page

16:24 <tmortagne> I'm not asking you to empty it
16:24 <tmortagne> I'm asking if it's empty :)
16:24 <tmortagne> usually this error come from the fact that /var/lib/xwiki/data/solr/ exist but is invalid
16:24 <maya__> tmortagne, no it's not
16:25 <tmortagne> in which case you should completely delete it so that it's recreated

16:27 <Guest91715> great
16:27 <vmassol> by xwiki I think you mean the servlet container
16:27 <Guest91715> so how do I connect them ?
16:27 <Guest91715> yep
16:27 <vmassol> an ip/hostname

16:27 <vmassol> gtg meeting
16:27 <vmassol> ..
16:27 <Guest91715> I did that
16:27 <Guest91715> but I get
16:28 <Guest91715> java.sql.SQLException: No suitable driver
16:28 <Guest91715> I downloaded the jdbc
16:28 <Guest91715> & put it in the WEB-INFO/lib
16:29 <Guest91715> still the same error
16:30 <tmortagne> Guest91715: did you restarted ?
16:30 <Guest91715> I commented bind_address in my.cnf
16:30 <Guest91715> yeah sure
16:30 <Guest91715> I added the hostnames to /etc/hosts
16:30 <tmortagne> "No suitable driver" means it cannot find the driver you declared in hibernate conf in WEB-INF/lib basically so it's not a server side issue
16:32 <tmortagne> actually not in WEB-INF/lin
16:32 <tmortagne> it cannot find the hibernate driver, not the connector if the error message is accurate
16:32 <tmortagne> what do you have for <property name="connection.driver_class"> property ?
16:33 <Guest91715>  <property name="connection.driver_class">com.mysql.jdbc.Driver</property>
16:34 <tmortagne> looks right
16:34 <tmortagne> very weird
16:35 <tmortagne> could you put the complete error in something like pastebin ?
16:35 <Guest91715> ok
16:36 <Guest91715> http://pastebin.com/2GFnJx7v
16:36 <boubou> tmortagne how are u ?
16:37 <Guest91715> I red when I get something like that, it's usually the last error
16:38 <tmortagne> the error definitely means that hibernate cannot find com.mysql.jdbc.Driver class and that driver is supposed to be in the connector
16:38 <tmortagne> you sure you have mysql connector in WEB-INF/lib ?
16:38 <Guest91715> yep, very sure
16:38 <boubou> I decided to manually deploy the new 8.1 war file in /var/lib/tomcat/webapps/ROOT/
16:39 <boubou> but it doesnt look to work
16:39 <tmortagne> well except for a broken connector I don't have much idea, maybe try to open the jar and see if the class is there
16:39 <boubou> does it have something special to do ?
16:39 <Guest91715> here /webapps/xwiki/WEB-INF/lib/mysql-connector-java-5.1.39-bin.jar
16:39 <tmortagne> boubou: make sure you are using Java 8, seems to be the commons mistake there days
16:39 <tmortagne> Guest91715: yes this jar
16:40 <tmortagne> make sure the file permission are ok too
16:40 <tmortagne> s/there days/theses days/
16:40 <Guest91715> 664
16:40 <tmortagne> looks right indeed, so if the class in in that jar I really don't have a clue
16:41 <tmortagne> you can open it as a zip and see if you find com/mysql/jdbc/Driver.class  file
16:41 <Guest91715> I downloaded it last week from the official site
16:41 <tmortagne> maybe there was a network issue or something
16:41 <Guest91715> about that
16:41 <Guest91715> I downloaded a zip
16:42 <Guest91715> but I only copied the JAR  file in that directory
16:42 <Guest91715> is it right ?
16:42 <tmortagne> yes you don't need more
16:44 <tmortagne> another possibility is to use the one provided by your linux distro repositories
16:44 <tmortagne> on Debian based distribution it's libmysql-java package
16:45 <tmortagne> and the jar end up in /usr/share/java/mysql.jar
16:46 <tmortagne> but if you are on Debian (or Ubuntu) you should probably use XWiki Debian packages
16:46 <tmortagne> makes things much easier
16:47 <Guest91715> I'm ubuntu
16:47 <tmortagne> you can look at http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/InstallationViaAPT for more details about Debian packages
16:48 <Guest91715> I'm using puppet to install this
16:48 <tmortagne> ok
16:48 <Guest91715> when I tried it on the same server it worked in a flash

16:49 <boubou> perms are 755
16:50 <tmortagne> boubou: what is import is what runs Tomcat, try "ps aux | grep tomcat"
16:50 <tmortagne> if the issue is not related to the version of Java then you will need to produce more information than "it doesnt look to work"
16:50 <tmortagne> s/produce/provide/
16:50 <boubou> ps aux | grep tomcat
16:50 <boubou> root      2208  0.0  0.0 112636   984 pts/0    S+   10:50   0:00 grep --color=auto tomcat

16:51 <tmortagne> ?
16:52 <boubou> http://pastebin.com/bWsjPPXK
16:52 <boubou> do I need a JRE or JDK
16:52 <boubou> JDK include JRE ?
16:52 <tmortagne> if /usr/lib/jvm/ is the default JVM then I guess it's ok
16:53 <tmortagne> JRE is enough
16:53 <tmortagne> JDK include JRE yes as you can see from the path
16:53 <boubou> yes
16:53 <boubou> tmortagne http://imgur.com/ejT0zAe
16:53 <boubou> looks strange
16:53 <boubou> why its unspecified ?
16:54 <tmortagne> I have no idea what this means, never used this UI
16:54 <tmortagne> next step is to look at tomcat log
16:54 <tmortagne> see if you have any XWiki related error in there
16:54 <Guest91715> is this OK ? <property name="connection.url">jdbc:mysql://192.168.58.190/xwiki</property>
16:55 <tmortagne> Guest91715: yes it looks ok but either the hibernate is totally missleading or your issue is with the driver
16:55 <tmortagne> s/the hiernate/the hibernate error/
16:55 <Guest91715> .190 is the mysql ip
16:55 <tmortagne> it does not seems to even try to connect
16:56 <tmortagne> since it cannot load the driver that is supposed to do that connection
16:56 <Guest91715> where is the driver called ?
16:56 <boubou> there is no tomcat.log
16:56 <boubou> :(
16:57 <ujjwal_> has quit
16:57 <tmortagne> the "driver" is what hibernate call the connector
16:57 <tmortagne> did you openned the jar as I suggected ?
16:57 <tmortagne> *suggested
16:58 <Guest91715> no, I used "cat" & my machine crashed
16:58 <Guest91715> how to open it with unzip ?
16:58 <tmortagne> well you just do :) this is a zip file than happen to have a name ending with ".jar"
16:59 <ujjwal_> has joined #xwiki
17:03 <Guest91715> yep
17:03 <Guest91715> there is a Driver.class
17:04 <tmortagne> if right is ok and connector is ok I really don't have a clue, you sure you don't have several XWiki instances in your server ?
17:04 <Guest91715> no, I downloaded the .war & expanded it
17:04 <Guest91715> nothing more
17:05 <tmortagne> Guest91715: you might want to reset all that and try the standard Debian packages, maybe you will have more luck
17:05 <tmortagne> (on http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/InstallationViaAPT)
17:05 <ujjwal_> has quit
17:05 <tmortagne> are you using Java 8 by the way ?
17:06 <Guest91715> yeah, of course
17:06 <Guest91715> java version "1.8.0_91"
17:06 <tmortagne> ok looks good
17:07 <Guest91715> I can't use the standard packages
17:07 <Guest91715> well, does it install mysql together with xwiki & tomcat
17:07 <Guest91715> ?
17:11 <tmortagne> hmm the xwiki-enterprise-tomcat7-mysql yes but you can install xwiki-enterprise-tomcat-common but it's not going to help much with the mysql setup indeed
17:11 <tmortagne> I guess something you could do is install xwiki-enterprise-tomcat7-mysql to get proper setup and driver and then get rid of mysql server (which will uninstall  xwiki-enterprise-tomcat7-mysql package but should not touch configuration files I think if you don't use --purge)
17:12 <tmortagne> then you will just need to modify the host in the hibernate conf I guess
17:13 <boubou> tmortagne if I deploy the 8.0 war file, I have NO ISSUE
17:13 <boubou> it looks like there is something wrong somewhere
17:13 <tmortagne> boubou: sure but I can't really help you without more information
17:14 <boubou> I would like to give you more info but HOW ?
17:14 <Guest91715> seems legit, maybe I will try that on a different CT & only keep the hibernate & the connector
17:14 <boubou> which log should show me the error ?
17:14 <tmortagne> boubou: you need to get tomcat log, I can't tell you for your system but on Debian it's on /var/log/tomcat7/catalina.out
17:14 <Guest91715> Boubou, you are connecting to xwiki through 127.0.0.1:8080/xwiki
17:14 <Guest91715> right ?

17:22 <tmortagne> what Ubuntu is this ? 14.04 ?
17:22 <Guest91715> yes
17:22 <tmortagne> ok so same as the server I upgrade to 8.1 2 hours ago

17:25 <boubou> tmortagne here I have ur info
17:25 <boubou> http://pastebin.com/T0Kfa7MS
17:26 <boubou> on centos, catalina.out isd located in /var/log/tomcat
17:26 <boubou> I dont get these issues with 8.0 version
17:27 <tmortagne> boubou: it's the same version of Tomcat ?
17:27 <boubou> yes
17:27 <boubou> installed with yum
17:27 <tmortagne> what you get is a Tomcat error
17:28 <tmortagne> make sure you gave the right permission to xwiki webapp
17:28 <tmortagne> Tomcat complains about jar it cannot parse (pretty much all XWiki jars)
17:29 <tmortagne> "SEVERE: Unable to process Jar entry [org/xwiki/component/script/ComponentScriptService.class] from Jar [jar:file:/usr/share/tomcat/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/lib/xwiki-platform-component-script-8.1.jar!/] for annotations"
17:29 <tmortagne> hmm it's not permission issue since it was able to open the jar
17:29 <boubou> drwxr-xr-x 7 tomcat tomcat 94 May 25 11:20 ROOT
17:29 <tmortagne> If you really did not changed anything in Tomcat I don't have much idea, it should not try to find annotations in the first place
17:30 <boubou> no
17:30 <boubou> I use it as a vm
17:30 <boubou> I installed the 8.0 war file, it worked
17:31 <boubou> I resored snapshot then I reinstalled the 8.1war file, it failed
17:32 <Guest91715> guys, have a nice day, I will go have some oreos, thanks tmortagne
17:32 <boubou> If I have this problem, someone else will have it too
17:32 <tmortagne> boubou: I never got this kind of error so not sure what is wrong, anyway using the WAR directly is not a good idea
17:32 <Guest91715> has quit
17:33 <tmortagne> you should expand it, please look at http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/InstallationWAR
17:33 <boubou> how should I deploy it ?
17:33 <boubou> ok
17:33 <tmortagne> there is various files in the WAR you need to edit
17:33 <tmortagne> some configurations
17:34 <boubou> http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/InstallationTomcat
17:34 <boubou> I did that
17:35 <tmortagne> this documentation tells you to "Extract the XWiki WAR"
17:35 <boubou> woups, I just extracted the war in .../ROOT
17:35 <boubou> yes
17:36 <tmortagne> vmassol: looks like you were right, the version of pdfbox triggered by Tika 1.13 broken some APIs...
17:36 <vmassol> I wished I was wrong though ;)
17:36 <tmortagne> I love libraries with such retro compatibility policies...
17:36 <vmassol> s/was/were
17:37 <boubou> tmortagne do I need to set that ?
17:37 <boubou> Policy configuration
17:37 <boubou> For those who activate the security manager for Tomcat, add this portion of code to the end of your conf/catalina.policy file from your Tomcat installation. You can adapt the code for the available installations of OpenOffice/LibreOffice on your server and for different databases :
17:38 <tmortagne> boubou: "For those who activate the security manager for Tomcat"
17:38 <D-Spair> has quit
17:38 <boubou> yes but is it enable by default ?
17:39 <tmortagne> vmassol: should not be a too big issue, looks like we use this only in a test
17:39 <tmortagne> boubou: no
17:39 <boubou> ok then its disable ;)
