vmassol - (12:10): guys, is someone working on fixing the Add menu ?
vmassol - (12:10): (it's too large making it quite awkward IMO)
vmassol - (12:11): (it's overlaping on the logo)

vmassol - (13:32): we need to release 2.5M1 ASAP. Can we release now?
vmassol - (13:32): (it was supposed to be released last week)
sdumitriu - (13:32): Looking at Hudson now
sdumitriu - (13:33): Hm, Hudson blocked
sburjan` - (13:47): have we fixed the nasty bugs ?
sdumitriu - (13:48): sburjan`: Which bugs?
sdumitriu - (13:49): http://incubator.myxwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Test/25Snapshots ?
sburjan` - (13:49): about storage system
sburjan` - (13:49): those aren't nasty :)
sdumitriu - (13:49): cjdelisle: All working with attachments?
sburjan` - (13:49): I mean.. not critical
cjdelisle - (13:49): As far as I know.
sburjan` - (13:49): attachments, lucene indexing, and the XEM bug I reported and it was already reported .. tmortagne knows about that
sdumitriu - (13:50): sburjan`: Anyway, 25snapshots should be fixed, you should test after Hudson wakes up and makes the next build
sdumitriu - (13:50): Except "Edit" menu doesn't display correctly when editing "Objects" in IE6 which can't be fixed
sburjan` - (13:50): okay
sburjan` - (13:50): I will test
sburjan` - (13:50): I guess I';; recieve an e-mail when M1 is released
sburjan` - (13:51): *i'll
vmassol - (13:51): jvdrean1: when can you release 2.5M1?
vmassol - (13:52): (you're the RM right?)
sburjan` - (13:52): tmortagne is afaik
vmassol - (13:52): sburjan`: nope
fmancinelli - (13:52): I think I fixed all the bugs that made REST and XMLRPC tests fail (two of them were due to the fact that now illegal language codes generate exception, and one concerns attachment code which generated duplication)
jvdrean1 - (13:52): vmassol: sdumitriu volunteered for the 2.5 series
vmassol - (13:52): tmortagne was for 2.4 AFAIK
vmassol - (13:53): sdumitriu: can you confirm you're handling it for 2.5 series?
sburjan` - (13:53): fmancinelli: you're working on tests too ? :)
sdumitriu - (13:53): vmassol: Confirmed
vmassol - (13:53): sdumitriu: ok so, when are we releasing 2.5M1? later today?
sdumitriu - (13:53): Yes
vmassol - (13:53): ok cool
sburjan` - (13:53): good
sdumitriu - (13:53): After Hudson makes a build
tmortagne - (13:54): sburjan`: not sure what you are talking about
fmancinelli - (13:54): sburjan`: Yes. REST and XMLRPC. They should be ok now

vmassol - (15:10): now sergiu is playing too!

fmancinelli - (16:01): is it still possible to commit stuff?
vmassol - (16:03): sdumitriu: any update on the release?
sdumitriu - (16:03): fmancinelli: What stuff?
sdumitriu - (16:04): I didn't start the release yet, so you can commit anything that won't break the build
fmancinelli - (16:05): actually I am trying to fix a test because locally it is fine but on hudson I see it failing :(
vmassol - (16:09): cjdelisle/abusenius: I see you've used @since 2.5 in your crypto commits. However so far we've been using the milestone/RC name matching when the code was introduced. In this case it would be @since 2.5M1. Is there a reason we should change the rule?
cjdelisle - (16:10): I wasn't planning to change the rule by subversion when I committed.
abusenius - (16:10): +1
vmassol - (16:10): abusenius: +1 to what? :)
abusenius - (16:11): not chnging the rule
vmassol - (16:11): ok
vmassol - (16:11): cjdelisle: not sure I understand what you meant in your previous message
cjdelisle - (16:12): I didn't mean to change the rule, I hadn't given it's value any thought, the 2.5 was just a mistake.
vmassol - (16:13): ok cool
vmassol - (16:13): was jsut wondering since I need to add a @since to some new code
vmassol - (16:13): and I was planning to use @since 2.5M1
vmassol - (16:13): I'll let you fix it then :)
cjdelisle - (16:14): If it needs to be fixed for the release, can someone else do it? It's labor day and I'm trying to do as little as possible.
cjdelisle - (16:14): solidarity :)
vmassol - (16:14): there's no hurry
vmassol - (16:14): it can be fixed after
vmassol - (16:15): we should just not forget it I think
abusenius - (16:15): I can fix it
abusenius - (16:15): sed rulez
abusenius - (16:18): should I put @since on the line before @version?
vmassol - (16:19): I usually put it on the line after but we don't have a rule for that AFAIK
abusenius - (16:19): ok, I'll leave it as is
silviar left at 16:19 (Quit: Leaving.
vmassol - (16:20): it's true we could order alphabetically
abusenius - (16:22): fixed
vmassol - (16:23): fast
abusenius - (16:24): does somebody know what web/**/templates/wysiwyginput.vm is for?
abusenius - (16:26): it doesn't seem to be used, but was modified not so long time ago
abusenius - (16:27): mostly by mflorea
mflorea - (16:28): abusenius: it is used by the wysiwyg editor
mflorea - (16:30): the URL of the rich text area iframe uses this template to render the input for the WYSIWYG editor
sdumitriu - (16:49): fmancinelli: Are you looking into the core build failure?
sdumitriu - (16:49): Lots of errors like this one: /home/hudsonagent/hudson_root/workspace/xwiki-platform-core/trunk/xwiki-rest-model/src/main/java/org/xwiki/rest/model/jaxb/Pages.java:[45,7] duplicate class: org.xwiki.rest.model.jaxb.Pages
sdumitriu - (16:49): Duplicate class
fmancinelli - (16:57): sdumitriu: that directory should be removed from the build workspace. Vincent commited a modification that makes the pom.xml generate the classes directly in /target. It is just a leftover of the previous builds
vmassol - (16:58): that's because the clean goal will not remove anything from the main src dir
vmassol - (16:58): (unless the clean plugin is configured specifically)
sdumitriu - (16:59): Who can do it? I don't have access to the hudson machine
vmassol - (17:00): I think there's an option in the ui
sdumitriu - (17:01): Yep, found it
vmassol - (17:01): I've wiped the worksapce for the rest module
fmancinelli - (17:02): I committed the latest fix. Locally it builds fine

sburjan` - (17:42): I re-created the swap aprtition inside a logical partition
sburjan` - (17:42): and now I can't swapon :))
sdumitriu - (17:42): Did you mkswap?
sburjan` - (17:42): swapon: /dev/sda5: swapon failed: Device or resource busy
sburjan` - (17:43): created it from gparted, of swap type
sburjan` - (17:43): df -h doesnt show it mounted
sdumitriu - (17:44): Did you mkswap?
sburjan` - (17:44): no
sburjan` - (17:44): mount: unknown filesystem type 'swap'
sburjan` - (17:44): well the partition is already created
sburjan` - (17:45): sorinello@Phoenix:~$ sudo mkswap /dev/sda5
sburjan` - (17:46): /dev/sda5: Device or resource busy
sburjan` - (17:46): it's not even mounted
sburjan` - (17:47): do I have to mount and after mkswap ?
fmancinelli - (17:48): sburjan`: You cannot mount swapspace since there is no filesystem on it :)
sburjan` - (17:48): but it's linux-swap as FS
sburjan` - (17:49): it has a fs
sdumitriu - (17:49): lsof /dev/sda5
sburjan` - (17:49): nothing
sburjan` - (17:49): I have an idea, brb
lpereira joined #xwiki at 17:50
sburjan` - (17:51): not working
sburjan` - (17:52): when booting.. I get a warn that swap mount failed. Manual or skip mount
fmancinelli - (17:55): sburjan`: when you created the swap partition did you assign the righ id? (82)
sburjan` - (17:57): sorinello@Phoenix:~$ grep swap /etc/fstab

sburjan` - (17:57): how can I see it's ID ?
sburjan` - (17:59): it seems that there is correlation between UUId and /dev/sda5
sburjan` - (17:59): I used swapon from GParted
sburjan` - (18:00): and it got mounted
abusenius - (18:01): ls -l /dev/disk/by-id/*

fmancinelli - (18:02): sburjan`: I usually use fdisk /dev/sda, then p --- USE IT CAREFULLY!!! and if you never used it maybe you should wait for the next advice for finding the id :)

sburjan` - (18:03): I have created a logical parititon. and within that logical partition I re-created the swap space as linux-swap. Used GParted
sburjan` - (18:03): dont understand what I did wrong
florinciu left at 18:05 (Read error: Connection reset by peer
sburjan` - (18:06): now swapon /dev/sda5 doesnt dive error, but doesnt mount it either
fmancinelli - (18:07): sburjan`: it doesn't have to mount! Do a cat /proc/swaps to see if it's active
sburjan` - (18:08): do I get another warning whwen booting
sburjan` - (18:08): The disk drive for swap is not eady yet or not present
sburjan` - (18:09): nothing
sburjan` - (18:09): no device, noo partition
abusenius - (18:11): what do you have in fstab?
abusenius - (18:11): (about swap)
abusenius - (18:11): and sda5
sburjan` - (18:11): # swap was on /dev/sda4 during installation
sburjan` - (18:11): UUID=d00ef2a0-6f1a-4784-9797-31ebb4d73a78 swap sw 0 0
sburjan` - (18:12): and the UUID is the UUIT of the nwe swap pattition
sburjan` - (18:12): it's n ot the old one
sburjan` - (18:12): and why the hell isnt it working
abusenius - (18:12): I have LABEL=swap none swap sw 0 0
sburjan` - (18:13): I'm using ubuntu ...
abusenius - (18:13): well s/LABEL/UUID/
abusenius - (18:13): the point is the *none*
sburjan` - (18:13): dunno what param is that
abusenius - (18:13): where to mount
abusenius - (18:14): (i.e. nowhere)
sburjan` - (18:14): so should I put the none param in fstab and give it a try ?
abusenius - (18:15): yes
sburjan` - (18:15): and reboot ?
abusenius - (18:15): try sudo swapon -a
abusenius - (18:16): and cat /proc/swaps
sburjan` - (18:16): sorinello@Phoenix:~$ swapon -a
sburjan` - (18:16): swapon: cannot find the device for UUID=d00ef2a0-6f1a-4784-9797-31ebb4d73a78
sburjan` - (18:16): lol
abusenius - (18:16): but it tries
abusenius - (18:16): :)
sburjan` - (18:16): yepp
sburjan` - (18:16): it's a progress
sburjan` - (18:16): now why the hell doesnt it like the UUID
abusenius - (18:16): just say /dev/sda5 instead :)
sburjan` - (18:17): swapon -a didnt returned nothing
sburjan` - (18:17): sorinello@Phoenix:~$ cat /proc/swaps
sburjan` - (18:17): Filename Type Size Used Priority
sburjan` - (18:17): /dev/sda5 partition 4120632 0 -1
sburjan` - (18:17): now it;s listed :)
sburjan` - (18:18): fmancinelli: is this ok now ?
sburjan` - (18:18): still not getting swap at df =h

sburjan` - (18:19): nop.. no warning
sburjan` - (18:20): but afaik.. i've seen stuff with /swap mountpoint on df -h .. maybe I was dreaming
sburjan` - (18:20): but if it's not mounted, how is it used ?
sdumitriu - (18:29): sburjan`: free
sdumitriu - (18:29): What does it say?
sburjan` - (18:30): Swap: 4120632 0 4120632
sburjan` - (18:30): used is 0 :)
abusenius - (18:30): it is used as memory extension, not as a block device
sdumitriu - (18:31): Then you have 4G of swap active
sburjan` - (18:31): so it's used only when the RAM gets full ?
sdumitriu - (18:31): Yes
sburjan` - (18:31): yes, I have 4G
abusenius - (18:31): but you can as well use a file as swap, the fs where ths file is will need to be mounted then
sburjan` - (18:31): I see
sburjan` - (18:32): so swap doesnt necessarily to be a swap partition .. separate from / ext3-4 whatever
sburjan` - (18:32): good to know :)
